Blending design, technology, and storytelling through intentional design.
Hi, I’m Yulin!
I’m a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Technology Innovation program at the University of Washington, building on my BFA in Product Design from Parsons School of Design. I am currently based in the Seattle area and seeking industrial or product design roles where I can bridge the gap between physical hardware and connected experiences.
I’ve always been a maker at heart. My journey into design started with a fascination for how things are built, leading me to develop deep hands-on skills in woodworking and fabrication. That tactile curiosity—whether I’m steam-bending wood for a chair or prototyping with CNC tools—naturally evolved into a career in Industrial Design. I love finding the intersection where craftsmanship meets modern technology to create products that feel both functional and human.
Within the field, I’m particularly interested in consumer electronics, furniture, lighting, and travel goods. My approach is defined by a blend of aesthetic sensitivity and technical rigor; I am passionate about integrating smart features into everyday objects without losing their soul—like exploring how lighting can adjust to our circadian rhythms or how luggage can be reimagined for better accessibility.
I’ve gained diverse experience ranging from agricultural technology to consumer electronics. My time as a Product Designer at Aigen allowed me to dive into field research and usability testing for robotics, while my experience with vivo sharpened my perspective on mass-market consumer tech and precise manufacturing. These roles have strengthened my ability to work across disciplines, from Rhino and KeyShot rendering to rapid prototyping.
Outside of the studio, I’m an avid Ultimate Frisbee player. I love the teamwork and energy of the game, and I bring that same collaborative spirit into my design work.
